Dakota is a fantastically chic hotel that can be found ideally located in the centre of Manchester. Having visited Dakota in Leeds, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to visit the group’s most recent opening in Manchester. We absolutely adore this city, and found Dakota to provide a great base from which to explore. Being just a few minutes away from Manchester Piccadilly station, and only a short drive to the airport, this hotel is easily accessible.

The hotel is impressive from your first step inside, featuring low level lighting, smartly dressed staff and an extremely welcoming atmosphere. It is stylish throughout and it’s increasingly obvious that a lot of time and attention has been spent on the interiors, which reflect the brand very well indeed. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly by a member of the team and shown on our way to our suite.

During our stay, we experienced one of Dakota’s Executive Suites. Our corner suite featured a colour palette of elegant muted-grey tones and offered a super king size bed in the bedroom, as well as a large lounge area. The flatscreen television came complete with a great movies package, and the complimentary stocked fridge was also a great touch. The most impressive part of the room, bar the bathroom, was certainly the views of the water, which were most welcomed.

“Everything from the location to the service and facilities was nothing short of impressive.”

The bathroom is also certainly worth a mention. When you enter the en-suite, you eyes are immediately drawn to the marble-top bath, which I can say is a real joy to experience. Further to the bath, you can expect a separate rainfall shower, as well as his and hers sinks. Luxury toiletries naturally complete the bathroom experience and certainly do not disappoint, along with the soft bathrobes and comfortable slippers.

In terms of wining and dining facilities, Dakota is certainly not lacking. The Dakota Grill & Restaurant offers a great space, at which to enjoy a fine meal. Boasting a simple yet sophisticated menu featuring dishes that contain locally sourced ingredients, this is a restaurant that offers great attention to detail. Expect seasonal dishes showcasing the best of British meat.

If it’s a pre-dinner (or anytime) drink you’re looking for, then you need look no further than Dakota Bar. Serving wonderful coffees and a vast selection of teas in the morning, this bar later transforms into quite the glamorous hot spot, serving up wonderfully crafted cocktails. With space inside and also outside on the terrace, you can expect a fantastic atmosphere and a great selection of fine drinks.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Manchester’s Dakota hotel, and must say it is a fine addition to Manchester’s hotel scene. Everything from the location to the service and certainly the facilities was on point, and we were impressed by the consistent attention to detail. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Manchester’s city centre, and certainly look forward to returning again in the not too distant future.
