Villa Cortine is located in Lake Garda in Italy, it's is a grand building surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens. Arriving at Villa Cortine is quite something; as behind the gates you drive through the beautiful gardens, complete with fountains that guide you up the driveway to the villa itself.

Although well worn, the villa is very grand indeed. Having been open as a hotel since 1953, this hotel boasts many traditional features. Its rustic charm suits its charming façade, and we were looking forward to taking a look inside.

    “Our room was wonderfully traditional.”

Upon entering the villa, we were delighted to find the authentic feel continued. We were efficiently welcomed and checked in by gracious staff, and shown to our room.

Our room was wonderfully traditional, and boasted a beautiful terrace overlooking Lake Garda. This provivded an excellent place to enjoy when the sun came up, and when it went down; when the light was just beautiful. We were very impressed with our room, which was as wonderfully decorative as it was comfortable – the bed was a real highlight.

The only thing we would rate higher than the comfort of our bed, however, is the history of the villa and the grounds themselves. Be sure to take a walk during your visit, and you’ll certainly encounter many wonderfully unexpected sights - with numerous statues littered throughout the grounds, exploring is a definite must.

Aside from the villa and grounds themselves, there are a lot of things to do in the surrounding area; and the staff at Villa Corine are only to happy to help you plan your day, you simply must book into Le Gardenie, as the food there is exceptional.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Cortine, and would highly recommend it as a fantastic accommodation option in Lake Garda. We would certainly return.
