Dundream eco-cottage is a self-catering cottage overlooking the coastline and Loch Ryan. The cottage’s location means that it enjoys panoramic views of the local area and even allows guests to see as far as Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man. The cottage is also located close to Lady Bay, which is perfect for walking and swimming, Corsewall Lighthouse is also on the horizon, which boasts the title of Scottish Pub of the Year for 2007.

The cottage itself enjoys front access decking so guests can enjoyed an elevated view of the surrounding bays. Upon entering, we were equally pleased by the spacious open plan layout, which is perfect for relaxing and escaping from confined city life. The interior and exterior floors are similar, giving the illusion that the inside and outside of the property merge.

The living room area includes a large wood burner between the living and dining room area, which is perfect for warming the cottage on a cold Scottish evening. The interior design is also impressively finished, with many of the furnishings individually chosen to fit in with the charm of the cottage.

“The Dundream eco-cottage is a delightful 5 star cottage and more than meets the high standards required to gain such an accolade.”

Equal thought has gone into the kitchen area, which blends in beautifully with the beech floors, and also contains a number of appliances to keep every guest happy. The owners provide lots of little extras to keep you going throughout your visit including dishwasher tablets, soap and a luxury welcome hamper full of little treats for everyone. The kitchen also boasts a large island, which helps merge the kitchen with the dining area and creates flow throughout the open plan space.

The cottage sleeps eight in four rooms and also provides two double sofa beds. During our visit we stayed in the master bedroom, which contains an en suite bathroom and provides beautiful views from the large windows to the bays below. The room and the bathroom were beautifully finished with little accessories including fairy lights, bath bombs and homemade bath salts to help guests relax.

The Dundream eco-cottage is a delightful 5 star cottage and more than meets the high standards required to gain such an accolade. Although there’s not a huge amount within walking distance, the cottage and its surrounding area are more than enough to keep any outdoor lover happy. The owners also encourage guests to cycle and provide information about cycle routes and local points of interest to tempt every guest outside.

The cottage has also earned a Category 1 Unassisted Wheelchair Accessibility award and a Green Tourism Gold award, which demonstrates the owners commitments to providing a sustainable and eco-friendly holiday retreat that blends quietly into the surrounding countryside.
