Nestled in the heart of the lush Kent Downs, Eastwell Manor truly is in one of the most relaxing locations. The hotel sits amongst 62 acres of private land, whilst the rural location feels a million worlds away from the hustle and bustle of city life, it’s actually only an hour or so from the centre of London.

The hotel itself is a beautiful building which holds a wealth of character. The original building, which was built in the original neo-Elizabethan style in the 18th century, was sadly devastated by a fire in the 1920s, but it was rebuilt in its full original style and has retained plenty of the original features and charm. Champneys have owned the property since 2017, fully renovating the bedrooms and becoming famed for its impressive spa and restaurant.

During our stay, we experienced the deluxe Hugo de Montford suite. It features a large open plan space, with a living area complete with sofas and armchairs, a coffee table and a large dining table by the bay window which overlooks the hotel grounds. In the bedroom area, the king size bed takes centre stage and has additional amenities which add to the overall feel of the room.

If you happen to have any records on you at the time of visiting, then you can make use of the record player, if not, the Nespresso machine and luxury toiletries are also on hand to make your stay here even more luxurious. The bathroom is certainly not short of space and comes complete with a wonderful roll-top bath and walk-in drench style shower, as well as fluffy towels, robes and slippers.

"We cannot fault our visit to Eastwell Manor."

Eastwell Manor is part of the Champneys hotel group, so the spa features heavily in the appeal of the hotel. This hotel is perhaps the ultimate destination for spa getaways and relaxation in the Kent area, no matter if you are planning an indulgent spa break or just want to unwind over the weekend with a massage. There are plenty of different treatments available to enjoy during a stay here, including the Champneys Spa Heaven Cocoon, specialist maternity treatments and men’s deep tissue massages.

Champneys spa facilities are second to none - high spec, stylish and smart. With a heated 20m indoor swimming pool taking the main focus, you will also find a state-of-the-art steam room, hydrotherapy pool and sauna leading off from the pool area. With comfy relaxation beds, if you don’t drift off during your spa treatments, then the relaxation room, which overlooks the rural North Downs, is the perfect place for you to relax and even snooze. Even the changing rooms are to be admired. Draped in marble, the vanity areas come complete with GHD hair dryers and straighteners so that you leave feeling as good as you feel after your treatments.

If after your spa treatments, you fancy indulging even further, then dining at Eastwell Manor is nothing short of spectacular. Right in the heart of the Kent countryside, Eastwell Manor offers the very best produce and this is reflected in the Manor Restaurant, spa restaurant and afternoon tea. Eastwell Manor is dedicated to having traditional British dishes on their menus, complete with contemporary techniques and continental flavours. The bar is a truly cosy setting and the perfect place to relax even further during your stay with a glass of your favourite tipple.

With a very impressive selection of drinks, including a crafted cocktail menu, this is the perfect place to try something new whilst enjoying the views of the dreamy North Downs.

We cannot fault our visit to Eastwell Manor, we would happily return and would have no hesitation in recommending this as relaxing, luxurious break.
