The Brandshatch Place Hotel and Spa is part of the Hand Picked Hotels group. It is an impressive country house hotel set in gardens maintained to a very high standard. The location is ideal for the race track or for the rest of Kent. It’s a short drive from the city and within easy reach of the M20.

The building is an impressive red-brick country mansion dating back to the 19th century. It is a spa hotel with a wide range of accommodation and leisure facilities, as well as two restaurants and the usual conference and meeting rooms.

On arrival, we were given a warm welcome. We were quickly checked in and shown to our room. The public spaces are light, airy and decorated in light, pastel colours. Accents are provided by rich wood furniture and artwork on the walls.

Our room had ample space, is well furnished and decorated, and provided for all our needs. The décor is simple, but well done, delivering a calm, composed atmosphere that lent itself well to a good night sleep.

“The Brandshatch Place Hotel and Spa impressive country house hotel, set in gardens maintained to a very high standard.”

The bathroom has a separate shower and bath, and a large selection of Hand Picked toiletries. It reflected the high standard of the rest of our room.

The leisure area can be accessed by walking through the corridors of the hotel, which is an advantage if the weather is bad. There are many facilities, including a squash court, swimming pool, relaxation lounges and a bar, and spa treatment rooms.

The spa offers such a vast range of treatments that all sound so tempting, including facials, massages and hot stone therapy that it would have been lovely to try them all had we the time.

After breakfast, we bathed in the relaxing warm waters of the swimming pool. We then spent a little time in the Amber Lounge, where we soaked up more of the calming atmosphere, to set us up for a busy few days ahead.

The Brandshatch Place Hotel and Spa is a great place to escape and relax and we would definitely visit here again.
