Le Relais is a casual, relaxed dining experience located inside the Grand Hyatt Cannes Hôtel Martinez. Giving pride of place to seasonal products, there is a good blend of Spanish and Italian gastronomy. With an interesting menu offering an eclectic range of dishes, there are a lot of tempting dishes to try.

The restaurant has a conservatory and garden area for the warmer months, unfortunately it was raining during our visit so we dined inside. This didn't damped our experience however, the staff were friendly, and the service was a joy.

We ordered a bottle of wine to enjoy with our food, Minuty cotes de provence, 2012, a versatile wine that goes well with all meats.

For our first course we had Burrata in Caprese Style, which although a simple dish was absolutely delicious. I would go as far as to say it was the highlight dish. Perfection, and very rewarding. My partner had the Duck Foie Gras Terrine, a deliciously presented dish, very enjoyable.

"We were very well looked after and enjoyed our evening."

For our main course we ordered the Beef Fillet, à la plancha, a lovely cut of beef cooked exactly how I specified. And the Shoulder of Lamb, preserved 72 hours, with Lentils “mantecate”. Aged lamb shoulder is so tender and tasty when done right, and this was perfect. We had sides of Mashed Potatoes, Mesclun Salad, Tomatoes and Parmesan Cheese. All the food was carefully prepared and cooked, we sent the plates back to the kitchen clean and thoroughly enjoyed the dishes.

For desserts we had the Tiramisu in Espuma, with Panna Cotta with Coffee and Crunchy Biscuit, with Arabica Coffee Ice Cream. A delightful blend of flavours, the tiramisu and coffee ice cream is a match made in heaven. We also had the Passion Fruit Meringue Tart Shortbread with Salted Butter, Passion Cream and Italian Meringue. Another indulgent and fulfilling offering, two superb desserts.

A visit to Le Relais is a must even if you are not a guest at the hotel, we were very well looked after and enjoyed our evening.
