Cap Estel can be found nestled in its own two-hectare peninsula, jutting into the Mediterranean Sea in a unique location in France. Surrounded on three sides by water, with magnificent panoramic views, Cap Estel is just ten minutes away from Monaco, and offers the perfect base from which to explore and enjoy the beauty of the Cte dAzur.

Cap Estel holds a certain air of exclusivity. With gated grounds and a long sweeping driveway down to the courtyard, the entrance is certainly very grand. Upon arrival, we were greeted by one of the friendliest doormen we have ever had the pleasure to come across, before he took our keys and dealt with the rest. After a quick check-in, we were escorted to our Ambassador Suite.

Cap Estel really does understand the art of five-star hospitality.

I simply love those rare wow moments that only the best five star hotels offer when you walk into a suite; thankfully, this was one of those moments. Our suite was open-plan and incredibly spacious. The large bed was most inviting and extremely comfortable. The suite also boasts two walk-in wardrobes, along with a 20 foot wardrobe that separated the living area. Aside from the walk-in wardrobes, we did make use of the separating wardrobe, which was very impressive both inside and out; beautiful craftsmanship.

The bathroom was simply exceptional, with a walk-in shower and a gorgeous bath. The bathroom also offered electric windows which opened out to a statue and trickling water feature.

What was even more impressive was when we opened our French doors onto our own private terrace, where we were able to relax on sun loungers, and enjoy room service on the large table and chairs. The breathtaking views over the sea were spectacular - our terrace was no doubt our favourite part of the entire stay. This is true tranquillity at its finest.

Its fair to say that no expense has been spared at Cap Estel. The hotel also offers a large gym with a sauna, again, with stunning views. Watching the waves crashing up against the window of the sauna is very special indeed. There is also an indoor swimming pool and a range of various treatments available; however, the definite highlight of me was the outdoor infinity pool. If there were an award for an outstanding pool, then Im sure Cap Estel would be most worthy - this is a pool that you have to experience for yourself, not even the best photographer would be able to do it justice.

Cap Estels restaurant, La Table de Partick Raingeard is also certainly worth a visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience there.

Cap Estel really does understand the art of five-star hospitality. The service and facilities are up there with the finest in the world, and we felt privileged to have stayed there. We would return in an instant - it really does not get much better than this.
