Dish is a casual restaurant, just a few steps away from Melbourne’s South Bank. The menu is casual and the dishes are well executed. The service is friendly, and we had a pleasant evening.
We started the evening with a couple of glasses of Yarrabank Cuvee, Yarra Valley Vic, 2009. We also chose our wine for the evening, which was a bottle of Howard Park Miamup Cabernet Sauvignon, Margaret River, W.A, 2011.
To begin we ordered the Green Asparagus Risotto with Lemon, Herbs and Mascarpone. The Asparagus was prepared perfectly, this dish was spot on. We also ordered the Salad of Freekeh, with Roasted Beetroot, Cauliflower, Pomegranate, Almonds, Red Onion and Herbs with Shanklish. The salad was delicious, the flavours were wonderfully infused.
“We would happily return to sample more.”
For our main course we ordered Fillet of Local Snapper with Vietnamese Coleslaw, Roasted Peanuts and Grilled Tiger Prawns. The Snapper was delicious, the Peanuts and Tiger Prawns made this an interesting dish. We also ordered Roasted Emerald Valley Lamb Rack with Baby Vegetables, Confit Garlic, Pan Fried Gnocchi and Jus of Lamb and Thyme. Another well executed dish. We added sides of Steamed Snow Peas and Sugar Snaps with Bylands Estate Olive Oil, Creamy Mash, and Hand Cut Rustic Twice Cooked Chips with Rosemary Salt.
To complete our evening we ordered the Affogato with Amaretto to share. I enjoy coffee based desserts, it’s a great way to end the evening. We enjoyed our evening at Dish, we don’t have a bad word to say and would happily return to sample more.
