Mint Leaf Lounge and Restaurant, situated in London, is a great find. Being the more relaxed alternative to the Haymarket signature restaurant, the ambiance is that of a more relaxed style, and Mint Leaf Lounge offers a culinary haven in the heart of the city.
Being a contemporary Indian restaurant with style in abundance, Mint Leaf Lounge naturally attracts a more corporate crowd. It’s a great place to impress business associates.
“The food at Mint Leaf Lounge really delivers something special.”
As well as a great menu, Mint Leaf Lounge also boasts a comprehensive cocktail selection, and upon our arrival we decided to sample a couple. Firstly, we opted for The Breakfast Mojito – a blend of Bacardi Superior muddled with mint, lime juice and homemade Early Grey, finished with lemon oil syrup and soda - and a Smoking Lady, which is a mix of Finlandia, egg white, lemon juice, Cointreau and rhubarb bitters.
Suitably impressed with the fist two, we went for a second round. This time we tried the Strawberry Mule - a blend of ginger infused Finlandia with fresh strawberries and lime, topped with ginger beer - and a Blush, which is a mix of Sagatiba Pura muddled with homemade grapefruit and vanilla syrup, served with fresh grapefruit wedges and vanilla sugar.
The cocktails were superb and expertly made, the highlight for me was certainly the Smoking Lady - refreshing, light and tasty.
Following our cocktails we were seated for dinner. To start, we opted for the assorted grill platter for two. The highlights of the platter included the Paneer Tikki - cottage cheese marinated with royal cumin and yoghurt, served with a chili garlic sauce; the Lamb Sheekh Kebab - skewered mince lamb tandoor with fresh mint and coriander chutney; the Tandoori Jheenga - tiger prawns infused with lime, coriander and ginger, served with a mint coriander chutney; and the grilled lamb chops marinated in chili, coriander and ginger.
The flavours of the dishes were simply outstanding, paired with beautiful presentation; the food at Mint Leaf Lounge really delivers something special.
For our main courses, we opted for the Chicken Jhalfrezi and the lamb Methi Mass, which were also superb; expertly cooked and rich in flavour. To accompany our main dishes, we went for the Dal Makhani - slow cooked black lentils with tomato and butter – some jeera and saffron pulao rice, raita, and a garlic naan.
The food at Mint Leaf Lounge and Restaurant really is divine, and the cocktail selection equally enjoyable. This restaurant offers a stylish environment to experience beautiful, traditional Indian cuisine, and we would thoroughly recommend it to all.
