Having opened its doors in 2013, we thought it was about time that we lay our heads here. Having previously visited STK and the Radio Rooftop, which made quite the impression on us, we were keen to explore beyond the impressive lobby area.
Being Meliá’s new flagship hotel, we had a sneaking suspicious that we were onto a good thing. Located between Westminster and the City, the hotel’s surroundings are just one of the many things we loved about it. With some of the best parts of London right on its doorstep, it’s hard not to fall in love with Me London, and that’s exactly what happened to us.
It could have been the indulgent modern interiors, the excellent customer service, or maybe even the music, we’re not sure; whatever it is, Me London certainly holds a special charm, which we fell for hook, line and sinker.
“It will be calling us back in the not so distant future.”
The reception can be found on the first floor, where were greeted upon arrival and relieved of our luggage. Guests are greeted with a glass of Prosecco upon arrival, which is a lovely touch. The reception area itself really is very impressive, with polished marbled walls, which look up several stories to a glass peak. White leather sofas adorn the open plan space, and we made the most of taking in our surroundings before being shown to our room.
One very impressive feature of the hotel, and one I could not miss pointing out, are the corridors. I cannot fathom why some hotels pay little to no attention to hotel corridors, and often fail to make them an enjoyable experience, even though they are one of the guests’ first impressions. That is thankfully not the case here, where the corridors are everything a hotel corridor should be.
Our room was lovely. Faultless in design, and everything a five star hotel room should be. Crisp, white, and immaculate, with the latest in technology, including light control mood settings, ceiling mounted speakers, a large plasma, and a welcomed espresso machine.
The bathroom is also impressive, with large walk-in his and hers shower and sinks. Again, the bathroom also boasted various mood lighting settings.
There’s also a state-of-the-art fitness centre for those looking to work out during their stay. It’s worth having a chat with the staff if you’re looking for tips for things to do in the surrounding area - they are very knowledgeable.
Overall, we loved the hotel, and would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a spot of luxury in London. We would definitely return, and with STK and Radio Rooftop on-premise, it will be calling us back in the not so distant future.
