Over the festive season, we jumped at the opportunity to visit Radio Rooftop’s AprèsWithAView experience which can be found on the rooftop of the 'ME London'. AprèsWithAView saw two furnished cable cars on their terrace in which you could eat, drink and be merry for the winter season. This experience was created in partnership with Grey Goose, and the bar was serving up some pretty special cocktails during our visit.

To start our experience, I began with a Winter Espresso Martini, which saw Grey Goose vodka mixed with Grand Marnier, espresso and chocolate bitters. This was a strong and warming cocktail, with just the right hit of coffee. My partner chose the Off-Piste, which saw a blend of Patron Reposado tequila, Licor 43, Frangelico, Amaretto and a dash of Angostura Bitters. It was a sweet and aromatic blend that somehow delivered a strong feeling of Christmas.

“It was quite a shock when we left and were back in the reality of central London.”

Up next, I chose the Gingerbread Coupe, which saw Russian Standard Platinum mixed with Baileys, Frangelico and gingerbread syrup. My partner then chose the London Sunrise, which was a blend of Patron Silver with Aperol, passion fruit and aloe vera water. I must comment on the presentation of the cocktails, which was absolutely beautiful; each creation was a work of art.

Finally, I chose a Violet Crown, which saw Star of Bombay, violet, Cointreau and egg white shaken into a wonderfully floral drink that was incredible moreish. My partner chose the Watermelon Mar-Tea-Ni for her final drink, which was a mix of Bombay Sapphire with Solerno, Chambord, watermelon and egg white.

We were thoroughly impressed by each and every drink, as each one was crafted with much care and attention to detail. The special setting also made our evening a real standout location, and we genuinely felt that we could have been in the Alps. It was quite a shock when we left and were back in the reality of central London. We would highly recommend the #AprèsWithAView experience and commend Radio Rooftop for having such an ingenious idea.
