L’Incontro can be found located inside the Hotel Savoy in Florence. This restaurant offers the best of Tuscany with its dishes, and also with its wine offering. Diners can enjoy their food outside on the busy piazza, or inside the restaurant, where the atmosphere is relaxed and intimate.
A strong team heads up the menu here. Celebrity chef Fulvio Pierangelini is L’Inconto’s Director of Food, and he brings with him a wealth of experience. Remo Vannini holds the title of Executive Chef, and believes that aromatic herbs, fruit, vegetables, and the freshest seafood is the secret of his success.
Whatever the two highly acclaimed chefs have done, they have made magic here. L’Incontro is simply superb.
We began our evening with a glass of Perrier-Jouët Rosé NV. We chose to dine indoors, to make the most of the intimate atmosphere, and after our lovely aperitif, our starters awaited us.
“Everything was impeccable.”
To start, we both opted for the ravioli of ‘poppa al pomodoro’ with pecorino cheese shavings. The homemade ravioli was just superb, and evidently made using only the freshest of ingredients. It was just delicious, and beautifully presented.
For our main courses, we then opted for the veal cutlets ‘Milanese’ style, and the sea bass with sautéed artichokes and extra virgin olive oil mashed potato. Again, everything was absolutely stunning. The veal melted in my mouth, and the flavours of the sea bass were divine.
We simply could not pass on dessert, and opted to share the tiramisu, which was as equally delightful as the other dishes - light, yet rich and indulgent. It was heavenly.
To accompany our meal, we chose a bottle of the Chianti Riserva Pozzano 2010 from Tuscany from L’Incontro’s accomplished wine list. It was the perfect addition to our meal.
We were very impressed by the food at L’Incontro - everything was impeccable. We thorough recommend that you add this restaurant to your visit list when you’re next in Florence.
