Hotel Savoy can be found located in the heart of Florence. With just a short walk to all of Florence’s finest shopping, this hotel boasts a dream location. Marketed as one of the finest of all Florence hotels, we were naturally intrigued to find out for ourselves as to whether or not this is true; and fortunately our experience turned out very favourably indeed.

“Hotel Savoy has retained an authentic Florence style, bringing the city inside with their choice of materials.”

Located directly opposite the Column of Abundance, Florence’s city centre marker, you really do find yourself in the middle of the action when staying at Hotel Savoy. If it’s not shopping you’re interested in, then don’t worry, there’s plenty more culture for you to visit at your leisure, including the Uffizi, Palazzo Strozzi, the Duomo and Vecchio.

This hotel is impressive from the outset. The facade of the building is strikingly beautiful, and that continues when you step inside. The Savoy Hotel, Florence, has retained an authentic Florence style, bringing the city inside with their choice of materials. Marble and mosaic features adorn this hotel, bringing Florence to the forefront of the design. This is carried through the hotel, where every now and again, you’ll see artwork depicting shoes - the infamous Florence craftsmanship!

When we arrived, we were warmly greeted and efficiently checked in. Taking in our surroundings, we noted the attention to detail that this impeccable hotel entails. Beautiful furnishings and a clean and crisp colour palette, make for a real taste of luxury.

We were shown to our room, which much to our delight has maintained the distinctive Rocco Forte classic design. Our room was very spacious, and included all the necessary mod-cons, including a Nespresso machine and iPod docking station.

The only downfall of our room was the lack of bathroom space. However, this was more than made up for by our beautiful balcony, where we relaxed in the afternoon and watched Florence go by for a good few hours. If you’re staying here, then a balcony is certainly a must.

Other things to do whilst staying include visiting the hotel’s fully-equipped gym, which offers a great selection of state-of-the-art equipment - a great antidote for the amount of cheese and wine you will inevitably consume throughout your stay!

The hotel’s restaurant is also very good. L’Incontro serves up the most delicious Tuscan cuisine and wine in a beautiful setting. We certainly recommend you book in for dinner during your stay. Internationally renowned chef Fulvio Pierangelini is guaranteed to impress.

It’s also worth noting that Hotel Savoy is a family friendly hotel. Offering a Children’s VIP card which is presented at arrival, children can enjoy benefits such a personalised cookies, and the hotel’s Five Star Kids’ Programme, which ensures that you parents can get some relaxation, safe in the knowledge that your children are being well looked after.

We were very impressed with our stay at Hotel Savoy in Florence, and can certainly recommend it and would strongly advise that you add it to your list of places to visit.
