Seekoo Hotel is a design hotel, located just a ten-minute walk from central Bordeaux, in the up-and-coming docks area. With a much less traditional French style, Seekoo boasts a much more contemporary style.

We parked in the on-site car park upon arrival, before being checked-in. I’d like to take this opportunity to pay a special mention to the lovely receptionist, who helped us with our luggage, and was very welcoming. They were a true credit to the hotel.

“We would certainly recommend it to anyone who prefers an ultra-modern hotel.”

We were shown to our room, which unfortunately hadn’t been cleaned since the last guests left, so were taken to an alternative. We experienced the Junior Round Bed room, which wasn’t overly spacious for a junior suite.

Unfortunately, the room didn’t feel very well kept, with wonky, dusty blinds and a general tired feel. The highlight of the room was the bed, however, even this was sporting a stained bed cover.

Although our room didn’t blow us away, Seekoo does offer some great facilities, including a cool cocktail bar featuring impressive neon lighting, as well as a sauna and steam room for a spot of relaxation.

We would certainly recommend Seekoo for a one-night stay, although we would probably not return to stay for much longer. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, but we did feel let down by our room, and the general décor was just not necessarily to our taste.

That being said, we would recommend Seekoo to anyone who prefers an ultra-modern hotel. The design features are the focal point of this hotel, so if you are looking for something a bit different in a great location in Bordeaux, then this hotel could just provide your perfect base for exploration. The docks are very impressive, and we did think the location was superb.
