British Airways London to Los Angeles Review

British Airways London to Los Angeles Review

Our London Heathrow to Los Angeles experience started at the South Galleries Club Lounge. Here guests can enjoy a relaxed and informal lounge experience while waiting for their flight. We found ourselves a comfortable soda and enjoyed the complimentary coffee, soft drinks, wine and light bites.

Along with a vast selection of magazines and newspapers to browse there is also free Wi-Fi. This is a perfect place to soak up the peace and quiet before boarding, giving you an ideal opportunity to tie up any of those last minute tasks.

The lounge is very spacious, and although being very popular there is enough room to find your own respite from the hustle and bustle of the main terminal. After just a short walk we boarded our flight, where we were seated on the upper deck of the Airbus A380. We were excited to be experiencing the World Traveller Plus class, which is an upgrade from economy class.

"World Traveller Plus gives you a much improved experience on-flight."

World Traveller Plus is a breath of fresh air on long flights like this, the seats are larger and more comfortable. To give you an indication of a comparison to economy, where economy would have a row of four seats in the middle, World Traveller Plus has three seats followed by two seats on either side. The extra leg room is most certainly a welcomed edition too.

The seats reclined to the perfect sleeping position, and are very comfortable indeed. Moving on to the dining experience during the flight, we were pleased to receive a menu. I opted for the Fillet of Beef, with Glazed Vegetables. Although this sounds appealing, and indeed it did deliver on taste, it arrived in the typical foil lid container as you'd expect from in-flight food. We did have metal cutlery however, which was a welcome edition we didn't expect.

There was a beautiful chocolate mousse as a dessert, and we did like how the bread was served out of a basket individually instead of being pre-packed in a plastic wrapper. The drinks flowed freely throughout the flight, including spirits, wine and soft drinks. Overall our flight was a joy, and we do recommend both the lounge before taking your flight, and the World Traveller Plus gives you a much improved experience on-flight.
