Villa Poseidon can be found located in the picturesque harbourside town of Vrboska in Hvar, Croatia. During our recent visit to this stunning island, we were lucky enough to experience Villa Poseidon, which is a real joy of a property. We booked through Villas Hvar, who were extremely helpful with our booking, and we were delighted with Villa Poseidon, which truly is one of a kind. The villa itself sleeps up to ten people, making it the ideal place for a group getaway.

During our visit, we were staying in the Maestral, master bedroom. This was the larger of the two master bedrooms at Villa Poseidon, and was absolutely beautiful. The room offers a wealth of light from the tall glass doors that open out to two French balconies. With an open plan layout, the suite was complete with a freestanding bathtub, a large shower, two wash basins and a toilet. The bed was extremely large and comfortable and the bedroom even provided two built-in wardrobes, offering a large amount of space even for those not-so-light luggage packers.

The other bedrooms were also very impressive and offered their own bathroom facilities However, aside from the gorgeous bedrooms, our favourite part of Villa Poseidon would have to be the stunning outdoor infinity pool complete with a large patio and barbecue area. This outside entertaining spaces a real highlight, and naturally, this is where we spent the majority of our time. As day turns to night, this space really comes into its own with stunning views of the surrounding area and the fjord, with the illuminated swimming pool lighting up the early evening. There is also no shortage of outdoor furniture, from sun loungers to dining tables and beach towels, making this a very usable space, you will also find a sauna and table tennis located in the lower outside area.

“Croatia is a very special place to experience, and having that extra luxury of a private villa means you can really relax during your stay, whilst still feeling a part of the local culture.”

In terms of other facilities, Villa Poseidon also offers a fully equipped kitchen where you can prepare your own meals. This is great for when you’ve barbecued during the day and are looking for a more sophisticated evening dining experience.

It’s easy to see that no expense has been spared at Villa Poseidon. Everything has been finished to an extremely high spec, both inside and out. We cannot fault it, and cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone looking to experience a private villa in Hvar. Villas Hvar are a very friendly team who are extremely hands on from the start of your booking, right through to your arrival. They are even there to answer any questions relating to your inward journey, such as ferry times and directions from mainland Croatia. They also have a team member on hand to greet you on arrival and give you a tour of the property. It is this extra level of service that left us feeling so relaxed during our stay.

There’s parking for three cars, along with a garage which is home to enough mountain bikes for all to use whilst staying at the villa. These are serious bikes, which are a real joy to ride and we managed a few miles around the beautiful local area. As well as the bikes, you will also find a canoe or two for those looking to explore by water. We would highly recommend this as a great activity.

Croatia is a very special place to experience, and having that extra luxury of a private villa means you can really relax during your stay, whilst still feeling a part of the local culture. Exploring was our favourite thing to do throughout our trip, however it was highly comforting to know we would be returning to such luxury each day.
