Longrain is located in Surrey Hills, it’s a casual restaurant offering insanely good cuisine inspired by South East Asian culture. Unless you're in a large group you can expect to dine on a communal table, but don't let this put you off as the cuisine is just incredible and well worth the visit. The service was friendly and prompt, we were well looked after and had a wonderful evening.

We started the evening sampling a couple of their cocktails. We ordered the 'Red Dragon', this is mixed with Chilli Infused Ketel One Vodka, Creme de Peche, Coriander Root, Raspberries, Fresh Lime and Cranberry. It's a delicious and interesting cocktail, with a fruit body and a kick of chilli. We also sampled the 'Ping Pong', which comprised of Lemon and Lychee Infused Ketel One Vodka, Passionfruit, Lychee and Fresh Lime Juice. A very refreshing drink, easy on the palate and enjoyable.

"We couldn't speak any higher of the food at Longrain."

We ordered the Aromatic Spiced Yellow Curry, with Pumpkin, Cauliflower and Fennel. I love curry, and this was a superb dish and didn’t dissapoint. My partner ordered the Penang Curry, with Chicken, Peanuts, Green Beans, and Crispy Whitebait. We shared a side of Thai Jasmine Rice to complete our meal, and enjoyed every mouthful.

We ordered a bottle of Woodlands, Cabernet Merlot, Margaret River WA, 2013. A wine with complex aromas of dark berries and plum. Very enjoyable with the dishes we ordered. We couldn't speak any higher of the food at Longrain, a strong recommendation from us.
