Langshott Manor is an incredibly beautiful Elizabethan manor house, dating back to around 1580. It is set in picturesque grounds, with close proximity to Gatwick Airport. It’s near enough everything to be convenient, but far enough away to avoid the noise.

We entered the porch, and were surrounded by stained glass leaded windows, set in the lovingly restored wooden structure, it was truly a step back in time. Emma greeted us, and showed us to our room, which is in the new building. This part of the property has been designed in keeping with the original house, with exceptional attention to detail.

There are 22 rooms in the hotel, a restaurant and conference centre. The grounds are landscaped and framed the building perfectly. They were lovely to walk around and just relax. After a demanding week in the city, this is the perfect weekend retreat.

“The entire experience at Langshott Manor was positive, from the moment we arrived until the minute we left.”

Our room boasted amazing decor, a large screen television, wooden beams and doors, a stone fireplace, a large comfortable bed beautifully adorned with exquisite fabrics, luxurious curtains, leaded windows overlooking a lake which was originally part of the moat.

There was also a large bathroom, complete with a bath and shower, again beautifully decorated. The suite caters for all that is needed and more. Despite being a country house, the inside was light and airy, it didn’t have that stuffiness or dank darkness that many older houses suffer from, which is a big plus point.

Breakfast was served in the Mulberry Restaurant. On the buffet table, there was a whole array of breakfast treats from which to choose. We selected grilled tomato, large flat mushroom, poached egg and toast. These were cooked beautifully, and set us up for the day.

The entire experience was positive, from the moment we arrived until the minute we left we were made to feel welcome. The service was excellent, the food a high quality and the room exceptional. We would definitely choose to stay and eat at Langshott Manor again.
