Smoke & Mirrors is a trendy rooftop bar that can be found on the roof terrace of the National Gallery in Singapore. The bar itself appears to be the place to take the perfect selfie, but for us, we were more than happy to just sit back and admire the stunning views over Singapore. The views are very impressive, with Marina Bay as the backdrop. It truly is a wonderful location.

The bar serves a vast menu of intriguing cocktail creations, which we were only too happy to explore.

During our time there, I sampled the Rainforest Remedy, which consisted of sage gin, Amaro Montenegro, Triagona honey, lemon and fizz. This fresh, fruity cocktail was complimented well by the hint of sage.

Up next, I went for Nakajima’s Dansu, which saw a blend of cherry blossom tea bourbon, apricot brandy, orange and apple bitters. This aromatic concoction was strong and bold, and expertly curated.

“The bar serves a vast menu of intriguing cocktail creations.”

Finally, I chose Glasgow’s Winterfall that combined Drambuie, Amaro Nonino, Becherovka and grapefruit sherbet with lemon, orange bitters and bubbles. I thoroughly enjoyed this cocktail. It was beautifully presented and wonderfully executed.

My partner chose to steer away from the cocktails on this occasion, but thoroughly enjoyed working away at the wine list, with a glass of the Bisol Jeio Prosecco Di Valdobbiadene Brut, Veneto, NV; as well as a glass of the Perrier-Jouët Brut Champagne, NV; and finally a glass of the Ribbonwood Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, 2014.

We would certainly return to this rooftop bar whilst visiting Singapore in the future. It is quite the hot spot, and comes highly recommended by us as a fantastic place to sip beautiful cocktails whilst enjoying the impressive views.
