Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Hard Rock Review

Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Hard Rock Review

We experienced the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Hard Rock whilst in LA. It was hard not to be noticed as we drove the streets of LA in our Sunset Orange model. The Jeep doesn’t need to be a bright colour to stand out however, with its rugged and stylish looks it turns heads almost everywhere we went.

For a car with a simplistic and rugged exterior, the interior was surprisingly comfortable and modern. The driver and front passenger sits snug in black leather trimmed bucket seats. The sound system is Bluetooth compatible, voice activated, and has a large touch screen. So whatever your preference, you can stay connected while driving and be in full control.

For those not familiar with 4WD off-road vehicles, there are additional low ratio gears to handle just about any terrain you throw at the Jeep. You can drive on sand with ease and this car is perfect for driving down to Santa Monica with a couple of surf boards in the back. I was impressed with the amount of controls on the steering wheel. My hands didn’t need to leave the wheel to use cruise control, control the stereo system, and flick through the various on–board computer settings like trip meter & fuel level.

“An excellent off-road car that still delivers on the busy streets.”

The handling is pretty good on the Jeep Wrangler. You have to keep in mind that this car is designed to handle rough terrains. It still does a great job of being a good road car, but the suspension is a little on the soft side, and you will under-steer if you corner hard. It’s not a sports car after all, it’s a versatile off-road car that when put to the test will handle anything you throw at it. There is a real sense of fun driving off-road though, it takes a little practice to get used to handling the off-road gears, but it soon becomes second nature.

The Jeep Wrangler is the best example of an excellent off-road car that still delivers on the busy streets of LA. It turns heads for all the right reasons, and having that peace of mind that you can switch on that 4WD mode and get out of trouble is comforting. I know I will be back in a Rubicon if I need a 4x4.
