I recently visited Richmond upon Thames for a relaxing weekend this summer and stayed at Richmond Hill Hotel. The hotel caught my attention as it’s located near the River Thames, the Richmond Terrace, and King Henry’s Mound.

During our visit, we made the most of our time to look around Richmond upon Thames. Having a comfortable room to rest in after our tourist activities was very important, and I’m happy to say that the Richmond Hill Hotel did not disappoint! The room was clean, with cosy vintage-styled furniture that felt appropriate. We booked the Georgian Junior Suite, which was perfect for just the two of us. My favourite part was freestanding bath located within the bedroom along with the huge wardrobe space that allowed for easy unpacking and organisation.

There was so much to see around the hotel area. On our first afternoon, we went for a short walk to Heron Square and enjoyed the Riverside area. It was a really pleasant experience to be in a hotel where we didn’t have to travel too much to see several beautiful areas, including the buzzing Richmond upon Thames town centre. Richmond Park was quite literally only several footsteps away from the hotel, which made for the perfect morning stroll!

"It's a reasonably priced hotel, with exceptional service"

The hotel staff were very friendly and were a great help. When we asked for their recommendations for places to visit, they happily informed us of the many great places close to the hotel. We were very happy to hear that there are some water activities available less than a couple of miles from our stay, like the boat-for-hire and paddle-boarding.

It’s also worth noting the spa facilities, such as their facial and manicure service, or their full-body treatments which included exfoliation and a full-body massage.

Unfortunately we didn’t have a chance to eat at their restaurant, 144 On The Hill, but with it’s varied menu and intriguing decor its well worth exploring, especially in the summer months when their terrace is open for guests to enjoy.

All in all, we were pleased with our stay at Richmond Hill Hotel, it's a reasonably priced hotel, with exceptional service. For a lot of people like myself, this is more than enough. If I ever visit Richmond again, I will definitely keep this hotel in mind.
