This luxury complex consists of a larger hotel building surrounded by smaller self catering cottages located a few minutes walk away. The Kenmore Luxury Lodges are located in scenic Perthshire, Scotland. We experienced the 'Brae' which is a part of a series of terraced cottages. Our particular cottage was made up of a large ensuite master bedroom as well as two smaller double twin rooms. This three bedroom building can accommodate up to six people at any one time.
The first thing one notices when entering the spacious lodgings is the wood burner and more than adequate amount of wood for our stay. There is an instant cosy feel to the place because of this. To say that the cottage is 'quaint' would be an understatement - these olde world cottages truly are fantastic to stay in, there are a lot of the original features that nicely complement the modern functional aspects. For example the local slate slabs that went into making the fireplace surround at our cottage. It's these features that also in our opinion gave the cottage it's lovely homely atmosphere.
"The traditional feel made our cottage feel very warm and welcoming."
Next you can find the fully functional and very spacious kitchen. This comes complete with everything you need from the smaller utensils to the larger food processing and cooking equipment. Perfect if you are planning to do some entertaining! There is a games room that is described as a 'snug' room, perfect for the younger members of your family. It comes fully equipped with bean bags and XBox. This space just adds to the 'family feel' of the place, there really is something for everyone.
The attractive French doors lead out to the large garden and hot tub. The outdoor garden lighting is particularly effective and is perfect for any summer evening soiree that you might have planned. We found the bathroom to be comfortably spacious with a large roll top bath tub and corner shower fitted.
The Brae cottage has some great views but it's not too far away from civilisation either. It was only a short walk from the main hotel itself so we had the option to eat there at the restaurant. No far from the shops either we could easily take a stroll into town too.
This is as fancy as you can get, as the Brae cottage is a five star rated stay. These cottages really do have a fantastic combination of style and function. A great idea for those wanting the versatility of self catering against a swish back drop!
