Jesmond Dene House is a grand and extremely characteristic hotel surrounded by quiet woodland. Situated only minutes from Newcastle, Jesmond Dene House provides the tranquillity of a rural setting whilst remaining within easy distance of attractions and amenities.

The name of the hotel suggests a country cottage, but upon our arrival we were pleased and confused to find such a grand and almost imposing building in front of us. Better suited to the term ‘manor’ than ‘house’, Jesmond Dene had quite a presence and our warm welcome extended inside where the staff eagerly awaited every check-in.

“Better suited to the term ‘manor’ than ‘house’.”

On our visit to Jesmond Dene House, we stayed in The Apartment, a separate and spacious apartment room on the top floor of the hotel. The large room was open plan and was accessed by a private staircase. The size of the room was very impressive, the bathroom too felt spacious. We also enjoyed access to a private terrace area, which was surrounded by the turret-like architecture.

The room also included a king size bed and a sofa with a flat screen television. The bathroom was equally impressive, boasting a large walk-in shower, a large bathtub and a selection of Arran Aromatics toiletries. We were also pleased to find under floor heating, perfect for colder mornings at the top of this old building.

During our stay at Jesmond Dene House we also experienced the restaurant and we were very pleased with the service. The hotel staff were very friendly throughout, making us feel welcome at every opportunity.
