Walking into this New York W hotel brings a sense of trendiness, the low level lighting sets the atmosphere off perfectly.

There are several W hotels in New York, this one is located on Lexington Avenue which isn't too far from Central Park.

After a swift check-in I'm up to my room, the room is fairly small but the trendiness is followed through giving this room a nice feel, the dark colours and low level lighting create the perfect finish, everything feels crisp and polished, the room is also complete with a plasma and an iPod doc.

The bar area is pleasant, at night it comes to life and makes for an enjoyable place to have a cocktail or two, my favourite being the lemon sour with vodka. The bar is split onto 2 levels, the bottom level is just off the lobby area, the upper level is made up of sofas and tables with candles, a little more quite and ideal if you fancy sampling their food menu from the bar, their menu includes things like salad, pizza, tempura and burgers with hand cut French fries.

Breakfast was served in their main restaurant area, the surroundings were not the nicest as it felt a little grubby and dark and didn't feel like the right kind of space to serve breakfast. The food however had no faults, I went with the freshly cooked porridge along with a freshly squeezed orange juice, I also tried one of their breakfast smoothies made with strawberries, bananas and pineapple, a real treat to start my day.

My visit to the W hotel was only 1 night, the time I had here was enjoyable and I would have no hesitations in returning here.
