The Grand Hotel Vesuvio can be found on the sea front in Naples. With unrestricted views over the harbour, this hotel does boast a great location.

Upon arrival we were efficiently checked in and shown to our suite. We were fortunate enough to stay in the Caracciolo suite during our stay, which can be found on the 8th floor of the building.

The reason we felt so fortunate to enjoy this suite, was due to the private terrace the room boasts. With 180-degree views over Naples and Mount Vesuvio, this view truly is a special space indeed. Waking up to these views, and being able to enjoy the wonderful sunsets really made our time there.

“The setting, staff, and terrace really made it for us.”

Perhaps the reason we were so captivated by our suite itself, and the views from the terrace, is because the rest of the hotel fell short for us somewhat. The public areas and corridors didn’t really match up to what we’re used to from a luxury hotel. So we were pleased to have the beautiful suite space that we did - if you’re looking to stay here, this suite is certainly a must.

Our stay was enjoyable nonetheless. Friendly staff and a great location made for a lovely time; and amenities such as the gym, and the hotel’s own car park, made life a little easier during out stay.

It’s worth researching the area, or asking the hotel staff for suggestions of things to do. The hotel’s surroundings are too beautiful to not be explored during your stay.

Although we wouldn’t necessarily hurry back, overall we had an enjoyable stay at The Grand Hotel Vesuvio. The setting, staff, and terrace really made it for us. The views were truly stunning. Worth a stay if you’re looking for a basic base with a good location.
