STK is the house restaurant at the ME Hotel in Milan. We are no strangers to the STK name having visited several locations around the world, we have always left impressed and STK Milan was no exception. The restaurant had a super layout, with the vast majority of the tables being booth-style so an intimate evening can be enjoyed. We started our evening by having two glasses of Moet and Chandon, Brut Rose at the Radio Rooftop Bar, unfortunately as we visited in December we were seated inside, but the bar has great views over the financial district of Milan and was a great way to kick off our evening.

To begin, I ordered the Burrata, with heirloom tomato salad and basil crumble, beetroot, and almonds. The burrata had a gorgeous texture, the outer curd and fresh cream center was perfectly set. My partner ordered the Scallops Carpaccio, which was made with licorice, mango, and pomegranate. An elegant choice for a starter with a delicious combination of flavours.

“Every dish that left the kitchen was of a high standard.”

For my main course I ordered the 200g USDA Fillet, along with a grilled lobster tail, complete with a super-tasty pepper sauce. The cut was superb, it was juicy and had a wonderfully rich flavour. My partner also had a steak, opting for a 400g Ribeye, which was served with a red wine sauce. There are few combinations more perfectly matched than steak and red wine, this dish was simple but perfectly executed. We also added sides of lardo mash and Brussel sprouts.

To drink, we enjoyed a bottle of 2015, Primitivo di Manduria DOC Feudi di San Gregorio. A ruby-red meat wine with elegant notes of cherries, strawberries, and some sweet spices.

The service at STK was excellent, every dish that left the kitchen was of a high standard, and coupled with the relaxed atmosphere we had an enjoyable evening.
