Sur, located on the trendy Robertson Boulevard, is a great find. Created by husband and wife team Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd, Sur has the cool, independent factor nailed down.

With beautifully discreet interiors, this restaurant oozes class. With an outdoor terrace, it’s a great place to come when the sun is shining. However, during our visit we opted to dine inside.

“Both the cooking and the presentation were equally faultless”

Because they looked so delicious, we began our evening with a couple of pre-dinner cocktails. First up, we enjoyed a grapefruit martini, and a Vermouth Sour. We then went on to sample a fresh raspberry mojito, and a Strawberrini - which was a refreshing and simple blend of vodka and fresh strawberries.

Following our cocktails, we relaxed at our table and made our menu choices. To begin we chose the jumbo shrimp fettuccini with Parmesan cheese and creamy alfredo sauce, as well as the shrimp risotto with sweet peas, fresh herbs and mozzarella cheese.

For our main courses, we opted for the roasted filet mignon with five-peppercorn sauce, French fries and Brussels sprouts as side dishes; as well as the roasted north Atlantic wild salmon with a lime caper sauce, accompanied by sautéed spinach and the divine mashed potatoes.

Both dishes were expertly prepared. Both the cooking and the presentation were equally faultless, and we thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful.

We washed our meal down with a very delicious bottle of Chianti Classico, Banfi, and soaked in the atmosphere, which was most enjoyable indeed. We left feeling extremely satisfied and very well looked after.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Sur and it was absolutely an evening which we would be happy to repeat. It should definitely be on your list to visit, it’s certainly on ours.
