A gastropub in Downtown LA. Sixth Street offer 24 world class bears on tap, along with a simple selection of wine, cocktails and food. There was a lively atmosphere while we were there with a strong after work crowd. This is a good place for drinks and light bites while enjoying the company of friends. With its simple décor and big butcher block tables this provides a casual dining experience.

We ordered a couple of cocktails to begin. I had a ‘Project Diana’, a smooth and enjoyable cocktail with Beefeater Gin, Combier, Grapefruit, Lemon, and Himalayn Pick Sea Salt. My partner had a ‘Blackberry Fizz’, mixed with Evans Williams Bourbon, Honey, Lemon and Blackberries. A fruity cocktail with a strong body of alcohol.

“Sixth Street is one of those hip and happening places to meet with friends.”

We settled on a bottle of Seaglass Pinot Noir, Santa Barbara, USA. An American wine with a lovely fresh and light bodied profile. We had not tried this Seaglass Pinot before, but I have to say it went down very well with our food.

For food, we opted to try the Smoked Salmon, with a Dill Cream Cheese, Avocado, Capers, Lemon and Crisp Bread. Sixth Street got this dish spot on, the salmon was superb. We also had a Bistro Burger, which came with Onion Compote, Boursin Cheese, Arugula and Aioli. Another simple yet well done dish.

Sixth Street is one of those hip and happening places to meet with friends. It has a great atmosphere, good food. We were well looked after by the staff. We look forward to returning and trying a few more of their signature cocktails in the future.
