Twotwentytwo is a stylish restaurant and bar tucked inside the basement of the striking and aptly named Landmark hotel in London.

Following on from the atmosphere of the hotel itself, the restaurant creates a relaxing ambience amidst its smartly decorated surroundings. A fire and a warm welcome from the staff create the beginnings of a lovely evening.

We began our meal with a selection of starters including hummus and pita, chicken satay, skewers of tiger prawns and Thai fish cakes. Accompanied by Darling Cellars 2011 Sauvignon Blanc, the food was unexpectedly simple but well-accomplished.

“The service at twotwentytwo was attentive but not overly fussy, perfect for a relaxing evening out.”

Following our starters, we enjoyed the restaurant’s Casterbridge fillet steaks served with chips and Béarnaise sauce. The steak was perfectly cooked and complimented by the well-executed sauce. The dish was simple but delicious and mirrored the casual but chic interior of the restaurant itself.

For dessert we indulged in a warm chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream. The fondant was impressive and perfectly cooked. The vanilla ice cream provided the perfect compliment for such a classic dish. Once again, this course effectively translated the atmosphere of the restaurant into simple but elegant food.

Overall, the service at twotwentytwo was attentive but not overly fussy, perfect for a relaxing evening out. It is a venue designed to accommodate both business meetings and social meetings, fitting the requirements for each simultaneously.
