The Luggage Room can be found located inside the Marriott Grosvenor Square. Separated from the hotel by a separate entrance with a very large black door, this bar has a certain amount of intrigue to it.

Upon entering, one would be forgiven for thinking themselves inside a train carriage. The décor replicates a carriage, with a black, cream and maroon colour scheme, including bench seating and marble stairs. It oozes sophisticated, classic style, and provides the perfect atmosphere to enjoy a cocktail or two.

“This is a bar that knows how real cocktails are made.”

We began our evening by sampling an ‘Apricot Rickey’ – a punchy blend of apricot brandy, lime juice and ginger ale – and a ‘Sloe Gin Fizz’ – a sloe gin based cocktail with lemon juice, cream, orange blossom water, egg white, cane syrup and soda water. It was obvious from the first sip that these cocktails were of a very high standard. They were mixed to perfection and the flavours were simply beautiful. We couldn’t wait for our next ones to be made…

Next up, we had a ‘Bees Knees’, which is a syrupy, gin based blend with honey water and lemon juice; and a ‘Perfect Lady’ which included gin, peach brandy, lemon juice, egg white and cane syrup. This is a bar that is not afraid to mix up their flavour combinations, and the result is beautiful, delicate, easy-drinking cocktails with a serious edge. This is a bar that knows how real cocktails are made.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Luggage Room. The atmosphere was relaxed, yet buzzy, and the team were very friendly and knowledgeable. We would certainly recommend the Luggage Room for an after work drink, or even to impress business contacts. We will certainly look to return in the near future, and look forward to sampling more of their cocktail creations.
