Located 100 metres from the Royal Albert Hall, The Gore Hotel in London is located between the popular areas of Knightsbridge and Kensington and is close to the Natural History Museum, Harrods and Hyde Park. The hotel’s location also provides a great base for exploring the rest of London including the famous West End.

The hotel initially greets guests with a traditional and timeless exterior and patriotic British flag. This design follows inside and is mirrored in the traditional and classic décor of the lobby and large lounge area.

Established in 1892, the hotel reflects the elegance of that time and treats guests to the high levels of excellence that have been enjoyed for over 100 years.

“All decorated differently and with past guests in mind, each bedroom boasted a unique design.”

The Gore also provides guests with dining facilities including the iconic Bar 190, popular hotspot for many celebrities, and the Bistro One Ninety which provides informal but beautiful food throughout the day, including a pre-show meal for guests visiting the Royal Albert Hall.

During our visit we stayed in a deluxe room. All decorated differently and with past guests in mind, each bedroom boasted a unique design and ours included an impressive bed with traditional drapes. This attention to detail and traditional approach to design continued throughout the room and was mirrored in the bathroom which could be reached through a passage.

The classically designed bathroom contained impressive statues and an old-style toilet, all adding to the traditional feel of the hotel. The room, although not a suite, was very spacious and felt as large as some suites we have stayed in before.
