The Arch hotel in London is a small boutique hotel in a great location. It’s far enough away from the action to be a bit quieter and near enough that you can get wherever you want to go with ease.
The interior is elegant and very well presented. The furniture is quality and the decoration is impressive. Everything is coordinated and looks the part. Initial impressions when first walking in are entirely positive.
Reception is a sit-down desk with a friendly receptionist who processes you quickly and efficiently. We had the Sullivan 785 Suite, which unusually was a basement-level space. Fortunately, an awful lot of planning has gone into making it light, airy and cosy at the same time.
The main room is large, with the king-size bed dominating one papered wall, a chest of drawers on another wall and a large sofa and seating area on the other. To get to the bedroom you walk past a small desk, which is enough to work on if you need to.
The Arch hotel is a hotel that lives up to the term “boutique.”
The bed itself was lovely and comfortable, with large plump pillows and LED reading lights. We slept really well and we couldn’t hear much from anywhere else in the hotel.
The room had a large TV, Sky, DVDs, CD player, complementary Nespresso coffee maker and tea. There was also an internet radio and iPod dock if those weren’t enough to keep you occupied.
Facing the bed are French doors which open out onto a small courtyard. This space is made more interesting by the huge mural of a black and white forest scene. Clever lighting and outdoor heating makes this a viable living space whatever the weather.
The bathroom was equally impressive, with a large double shower and a full size bath at one end. There is a TV over the bath so you can watch it while relaxing. Despite not having windows, the bathroom is airy and well-lit. The Malin and Goetz products helped with the positive impression too.
The Arch hotel is a great place to stay. It’s elegant, luxurious and for once, a hotel that lives up to the term “boutique.”
