This is a review of the South Place Hotel in London, part of the D&D London brand. The hotel is a modern venue will an uncompromising contemporary theme that works very well throughout.

The exterior is modern London and very clean. the straight lines, edges everywhere and modern colour scheme is attractive without being too off-putting to more traditional eyes. The doorman wore a modern cut suit, with a flat cap instead of the standard top hat, this is just a glimpse of how modern this hotel really is.

We had the Studio Suite, a large space with a super-king size bed, huge windows and lots of light. The room also had a corner sofa, desk, coffee table, electric blinds, Bang and Olufsen TV, phone, safe and all the usual accoutrements you would expect.

The room also included mood lighting, which is becoming popular in more stylish hotels. It offers a wide range of tones and moods to influence or match your state of mind at the time, they are a nice touch and work well in the right circumstances.

“The South Place Hotel manages to stand out because of the quality and standards evident throughout.”

The bed was very comfortable indeed. It was huge, with a firm mattress, comfy pillows and a very warm cover. We had more room than we needed but the bed lent itself very well to a great nights’ sleep.

The bathroom was also very light, black marble walls, black slate flooring, twin sinks, large double shower and plenty of products to use.

The rest of the hotel was just as nice. The South Place Hotel has a great sized gym, with just about everything you would expect of a professional centre. It also had a wellness area, sauna steam room and a range of therapies.

The hotel also has three bars and two restaurants, offering quite a selection for a city hotel. The two restaurants are both very good, Angler is an a la carte restaurant, while 3 South Place offers a wide range of high quality cuisine.

The South Place Hotel is a nice, modern hotel in a city full of nice, modern hotels. Yet it manages to stand out because of the quality and standards evident throughout.
