Paramount restaurant, located inside London’s iconic Center Point boasts an incredibly impressive space. The panoramic 360 views across London are definitely something to behold, and help to create this restaurant’s special atmosphere.

We began our evening with a few pre-dinner cocktails. To start, we went for a ‘Pepperfield’ - a gin based vodka with almond syrup and a twist of black pepper - and a ‘The Last Whisper - a delicious, citrusy tequila based cocktail. We then went for a ‘Love Poison’ - a spicy chocolatey blend - and a ‘Strawberry Cheesecake Cocktail’, which tasted exactly as it sounds.

“It’s worth visiting just to experience the views.”

We enjoyed our cocktails and were looking forward to our meal. To start, we opted for the monkfish and watercress risotto with Cornish yard, and the Scottish lobster and crayfish ravioli.

For our main courses we moved on to the Welsh lamb navarin with baby vegetables and potato galette and the trio of Aberdeen Angus beef with vegetables and bordelaise sauce. As side dishes, we opted to try the duck fat chips, the buttered curly kale and the spiced roasted parsnips.

We chose a bottle of the 2010 Italian Chianti to accompany our meal, which was both full bodied with nice balance.

It’s fair to say that the food at Paramount is certainly enjoyable, however we were a little overwhelmed by the portion sizes, which were far too big for most of the dishes we experienced.

That being said, we did have an enjoyable evening at Paramount. The staff are friendly and the cocktails are good, so overall we did have a good time and the setting really is breathtaking. It’s worth visiting just to experience the views.
