Located inside The Chelsea Harbour Hotel is the hotel's house bar, simply called the Harbour Bar. We decided to stop here for a bite to eat instead of the main restaurant as we only wanted a light lunch.
It's designed with a simple, modern look, and has several secluded private areas for those wanting some quiet time. In keeping with the rest of the hotel there are beautiful views over Chelsea Harbour, which guests can enjoy through the glass-front of the bar, or the outside terrace - a real treat while dining on a nice day.
We visited during lunch service, and while the bar isn't particularly lavish it does have a fine selection of couches and chairs. We were able to find somewhere very comfortable, the service was speedy and to the point, and the food didn't disappoint.
“As for a light lunch, there wasn’t anything more we could have asked for.”
We ordered a bottle of wine for our table. Opting for a bottle of Il Palu, Venezia Giulia, Sauvignon, 2013. A lovely aromatic wine, with a dry, velvety, good body. Drinking a nice glass of wine overlooking the Harbour has plus points, it was a lovely clear day and became the focal point of our conversation.
After browsing the menu, both my partner and I had the Beef Burger. Which came dressed with Tomato, Cheese, Red Onion, Lettuce, wrapped in a Brioche Bun and accompanied with a side of French Fries. The food came out promptly, was well presented and tasted perfect.
As for a light lunch, there wasn’t anything more we could have asked for. The Harbour Bar provides an idyllic location to relax with a drink. It’s an opportunity to make the most of London’s wonderful skyline and glittering harbour, something often under-appreciated in such a fast-paced city.
