The Grange St Pauls Hotel in London is a triumph of glass and steel that makes a real statement. It’s a 5-star venue with high ideals and standards to match. In a city with very high standards, that’s no mean feat.
The location is excellent, opposite St Pauls cathedral on Godliman Street. It affords great views of the cathedral and is a lively area of the city. This sets the scene nicely and puts you in the mood for being looked after.
The exterior of the building is modern, with lots of square edges and glass. It fits nicely within the older stone framework and doesn’t look out of place among the other buildings. Inside is just as modern, with a vaulted entrance with chairs and tables and reception with smartly dressed staff.
“The Grange St Pauls makes you feel comfortable and special.”
Our Executive Room was a corner space with a 360 degree view of the outside. We had a great view of St Pauls and had a great feeling of light and space once ensconced. The large bed was fabulously comfortable and there was plenty of space to move around.
The room had a mixture of traditional and modern decoration which was something we noticed in the public areas. From the outside and the entrance, we had expected it to be entirely modern. The two styles were done well and seemed to complement each other.
The bathroom was a little small and dated, which was a slight disappointment. It seemed a little disjointed from the rest of the room. The space was limited and everything looked a little old. It all worked and was quite clean, but let the side down a bit.
The feeling of the room was one of luxury. All the furniture and fabrics appeared to be of a high quality. Everything feels expensive, and worth the money you’re paying. This is something many hotels seem to miss, but The Grange St Pauls achieves effortlessly.
The Grange St Pauls is a great hotel in a great location. You are made to feel welcome from the moment you arrive and everything inside is designed to make you feel comfortable and special while you’re there. We would stay here again.
