Cartizze Bar is located in London’s Mayfair and just a stone’s throw from Bond Street, which makes Cartizze a great place for pre-dinner cocktails. It has outdoor seating that lines a charming alley in Mayfair almost Parisian like. The bar is Italian influenced and has an intimate indoor space, making it a great location for couples. The decor focuses on dip-dyed oak paneling, with blue and purple accents and furnishings. It’s named after Prosecco Vineyards, and has a vast cocktail menu that entices you to explore. There is everything you can imagine, from their signature creations to all the old classics, you’re really spoiled for choice. Presentation is taken seriously and is a large part of the Cartizze experience, you can feel and see the care being taken by the mixologists when crafting each cocktail to serve you a visual, and taste extravaganza.
I started by ordering the ‘Peninsula Sling’, a delicious cocktail mixed with Gin, Cherry Liqueur, Dom Benedictine, Bitters Blend, Fresh Pineapple and Passionfruit, and Cartizze Grenadine Syrup. The house syrup adds a taste of intrigue to this cocktail you won’t find elsewhere else, with the flavours mixed perfectly. My partner ordered a glass of Veuve Clicquot Rose, NV, a medium bodied pink champagne, with a lovely soft fruit core.
“Each cocktail is a visual and taste extravaganza.”
For my next choice, I ordered the ‘Jasmine Blossom’, mixed with Gin, Jasmine Flower Syrup, Fresh Lemon Juice, Soda Water, and Crumbled Meringue. This is a cocktail not shy on alcohol, the floral and citrus notes blend perfectly to make a balanced and enjoyable cocktail. My partner ordered the ‘Cartizze Side Car’, this cocktail is mixed with Brandy, Cointreau, Lemon Juice, Blood Orange Juice, complete with a Ginger Sugar Rim. An eclectic blend, but again carefully forged to make an unforgettable drink.
Finally I ordered ‘The Occultist’, this was an interesting cocktail comprising of Gin, Earl Grey Tea, Sweet Pineapple, Watermelon, and Cucumber Tonic. The lemony notes from the Earl Grey mixing with with the Sweet Pineapple was most enjoyable. My partner opted to try the ‘Amor Y Amargo’, any drink that translates to ‘love and bitter’ has to deliver on flavour and this certainly didn’t disappoint, comprising of Amaretto, Cynar, Apricot Liqueur, Lemon Meringue Emulsion, Vanilla Sugar, and Prosecco.
We left Cartizze with plenty to talk about and recommend stopping by to sample some of their gorgeous cocktails, we will be back in the future, in fact we have visited several times over the summer period and have yet to leave disappointed.
