Throughout our Afternoon Tea, we were looked after by the professional team. We chose the The Royal Tea selection from the menu, and this did not disappoint. Our meal began with a glass of Théophile Roederer NV champagne, a delicious light and fruity start.

The menu offered an incredibly vast choice of teas, and a waitress brought along a tray containing sample bottles, for us to make our choice. I chose the English Breakfast Tea, and my partner chose Pu-erh Tea. Both choices were deliciously balanced tastes to accompany our meal.

"Afternoon Tea at the Royal Garden Hotel was a delight."

Each course was served in beautiful fine china, and the first course was strawberries with a balsamic drizzle, a wonderful starter. This was followed by a fine selection of finger sandwiches, which included roasted vegetable, cheddar & pickle, egg mayonnaise (three perfect options, as I am vegetarian), salmon, beef and prawn. The sandwiches were light and not overly fussy, in a variety of fresh breads.

The next course was a three-tier stand, which began with wonderfully light raisin & cinnamon scones accompanied by a tray of strawberry and raspberry & mango preserves and clotted cream. The middle tier was a fine selection of tea-breads, including Dundee, chocolate, lemon drizzle and cherry – all beautifully light and moist. The top tier included such delicacies as chocolate Swiss roll and passion fruit cheescake. All courses were just the ideal blend to make for a perfect Afternoon Tea.

There are a number of high class London Hotels that offer afternoon tea. Tea after all is part of our culture, simply something we like to do.

Afternoon Tea at the Royal Garden Hotel was a delight. The quality of service, the presentation and, most importantly, the ingredients used were excellent.
