The Egerton House hotel, set in the heart of London’s Knightsbridge, provides traditional luxury in a contemporary area. The 5-star hotel delivers romantic elegance and a warm welcome from the outset. This peaceful atmosphere and attention to detail is mirrored in the hotel’s dining room.

The intimate interior is reminiscent of the hotel’s Victorian past. Classically decorated with obvious attention to detail, the room was inviting and the perfect setting for such a delicate meal. We visited the drawing room to indulge in the hotel’s floral champagne afternoon tea.

"Our afternoon tea at Egerton House hotel was beautifully made and included small but significant touches."

Our afternoon tea was accompanied by a glass of Laurent Perrier champagne and a choice of The Egerton House hotel’s finest leaf tea. Our tea began with a selection of beautifully presented sandwiches. Every sandwich was given an extra touch, most notably the egg mayonnaise sandwich which included almonds coated around the edge. Every detail was well thought through and executed, creating a unique experience.

Following the sandwiches we delighted in devouring the freshly baked plain and fruit scones. Accompanied by traditional clotted cream and a selection of preserves, the scones were perfectly baked and the ideal middle-course in our afternoon tea.

The tea also included a selection of homemade cakes. Similar to the sandwiches, each of the cakes boasted an extra touch and attention to detail. Our selection included passion fruit cheesecake, a blackberry macaroon, a vanilla cupcake with edible flowers and chocolate brownies with minted ice.

Our afternoon tea at Egerton House hotel was beautifully made and included small but significant touches that made it stand out from any other traditional afternoon tea. We hope to return for some more very soon!
