Having recently discovered Samuel Groves, we couldn’t be any more fond of our new Elegance 4 Piece Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Saucepan and Frying Pan Set. The set comes complete with 6”, 7" and 8" saucepans and lids, as well as a 26cm Frying Pan. I must say, this set is a joy to cook with, and having learned about the history of Samuel Groves, I think the company’s expertise speaks for itself.

Samuel Groves actually started out as a manufacturer of candlesticks, before branching out to kitchen equipment in 1817. Originally from Birmingham, UK, the company grew from strength to strength and in 1965, they expanded their repertoire to include cookware, bakeware and utensils. Fun fact: Samuel Groves even won a contract during the Second World War to manufacture aluminium trays. With over 200 years of experience, it’s no wonder their products are of the quality that they are - they really do speak for themselves.

In terms of the cookware in the range, this includes cast iron, copper, carbon and of course the Tri-Ply stainless steel that we have the joy of experiencing. The Try-Ply actually comes in two collections - stainless steel and non-stick - out of which we went for the stainless steel collection.

You truly can tell the quality of these pans from the moment you hold them. The weight is initially extremely noticeable and oozes quality. Aside from the weight, you can tell that a lot of care has been put into the finer details, including the handles, which are comfortable to grip. This is thanks to the riveting and hollowness of the handles.

Try-ply refers to the process of bonding aluminium between stainless steel, which allows the pan to conduct heat quickly and also retain heat. The combination makes the pan durable and provides evenly cooked dishes every time. Luckily, these pans are perfect for all types of hobs, including induction stovetops as well as gas, electric and ceramic. They are also dishwasher safe! The pans arrived in an environmentally-friendly hessian bag, much to our pleasure.

We thoroughly recommend that you check out the wares that Samuel Groves has to offer. As well and cookware, they also boast a substantial range of kitchenware including aprons, glassware, bakeware and utensils. We’re exceptionally glad to have been introduced to the brand that makes not only cooking, but also serving effortlessly chic. The designs are simply and classic, yet elegant, and we have received many compliments from guests on them.

We have cooked everything in these pans, from meat and fish to vegetables, rice and pasta, and can confirm that each and every dish has been an absolute success. Of course, a good workman never blames his tools, although when it comes to cooking, it really does make all the difference to own a decent set of pans.
