The Romanian company Meze Audio has established themselves in the audiophile industry with their Meze 99 classics wire-audio headphones. Designed by the company’s founder Antonio Meze, who’s passion for music and high quality sound products prompted him to create a headphone set that not only produced outstanding sound but looked traditionally sleek and effortlessly stylish against your standard plastic headphone set or the increasingly popular wireless ear phones.

This has resulted in an award winning product that continues to prove itself superior in a competitive and ever-changing market. Through innovative design and purpose the Meze 99 classics are the perfect travel companion, whether you are commuting to and from work or travelling on a long haul flight, these stunning wire headphones will make for a chic addition to your journey without compromising on superb sound quality.

"Through innovative design and purpose the Meze 99 classics are the perfect travel companion."

The Meze 99 classics are a hand crafted design that uses natural materials, primarily wood. The decision to use wood technology is one that comes at a cost as the rich colours of walnut results in a technical air-drying process. In fact, the process of shaping just a single pair of 99’s according to Meze audio, takes up to 8 hours which follows a process of sanding, lacquering and finishing which lasts around 45 days in total. This tedious process from inception to the finished product is testament to the care and quality given to each production of Meze 99 classics and the benefits speak for themselves – they are designed to last and the quality of materials ensures durability. The stylish, lightweight design is accompanied by gold or silver metal accents that only elevate their class amongst inferior headphones and add a level of luxury during use.

The ear cups are a veneered walnut style, made with a satin finish wood grain. Memory foam ear pads enables sound isolation and PU leather makes for a super comfortable feel on your ears that means you can use them consistently for long periods of time. The Meze 99 classics are also equipped with a headband that delivers even pressure for any head size, avoiding discomfort. Each wooden ear cup is hand finished and polished which means each Meze 99 classic is slightly unique but consistent in quality. These wire-headphones also produce exquisite range in sound, providing low-frequency handling of the bass and a crispness that delivers a clear, well balanced sound that doesn’t degrade in quality or suffer from sound distortion.

"These wire-headphones also produce exquisite range in sound."

When you purchase a pair of the Meze 99 classics your wire-headphones come complete with a hard EVA carrying pouch case, multiple cables including; a 1.2mm thread Kevlar OFC with Mic and remote and a 3m thread Kevlar OFC, a 6.3mm gold plated jack adapter, an airplane jack adapter and a cable pouch to ensure all your equipment can stay neatly together and easily accessible.

The choice to purchase Meze 99 classics is an easy one to make if you value quality. Meze Audio pride themselves on producing products that are innovative and executed perfectly and their style of wire-headphones is evidence of that. With a focus on delivering the best premium sound and a desire to challenge the perception of the headphone set as a solely technical device or cheap plastic product, Meze Audio has succeeded at bringing us a worthy product that successfully proves that a seemingly outdated piece of technology can once again take up a permeant role in our everyday life. The Meze 99 classics are a staple for those travelling, commuting or committed to listening to their beloved playlists with the best sound quality available when you are on the go. I could not recommend a more perfect addition to my everyday life.
