It would be rude to visit Las Vegas and not see a Burlesque or strip show. So we did. We went to Planet Hollywood to see Peepshow, which was billed as an adult, fun experience. Actually, the billing says “the sexiest show on the planet.” While we wouldn’t necessarily agree with the hype, the show itself was very good.

Some of you may recognise the name Holly Madison from such shows as The Girls Next Door and Dancing with the Stars. That last is the American version of Strictly, so she should know how to dance. Despite only just joining Peepshow, and having no real stage performing experience, the production seems built around her. The original production was headlined by Mel B, who performed to critical acclaim apparently.

The music is mainly modern versions of nursery rhymes with an adult twist. It isn’t as bad as it sounds. The music is actually very good, and fit with the performance very well. Holy didn’t sing, and didn’t dance all that much, but she looked very good on stage.

The highlight of the show is the great performance, and the fact that there is something for the ladies too. It isn’t just a quick thrill for men, there are good looking male performers there too. The male singer we saw had a great voice, and a great body.

It was during the performance that I discovered the show name is really a pun on those nursery rhymes. Despite the fact it is a burlesque show, there were plenty of women in the audience. The challenging part for me was when I either didn't know the rhyme. That said, I was still able to follow the overall storyline. It will help to read the show synopsis in a program first.

Cocktail service was efficient and every attempt was made to be as non-distracting from the show as reasonably possible.

If you like a bit of adult, but not the cheap, smutty kind give Peepshow a try. Don’t pay full price though, there are hundreds of deals on tickets on the internet and in the city itself.
