Trattoria La Vigna is a beautiful restaurant, found inside the Lefay Spa and Hotel, located on the banks of Lake Garda, Italy. This restaurant offers unrestricted views over the Lake; the setting is simply stunning. Offering a beautiful terrace, this is a place where you can really relax, and indulge in the gorgeous scenery.

We visited Trattoria La Vigna for lunch whilst staying at the hotel, and were very pleased that we did. As well as a traditional, Italian à la carte menu, Trattoria La Vigna also offers a buffet selection. Now, as a person who normally runs a mile from anything to do with the word ‘buffet’, I was surprisingly impressed.

“The dishes were so beautifully fresh, we devoured them in delight.”

The buffet selection includes, Italian hams and pickles, buffalo and cow mozzarella, selection of Italian cheeses with fruit jams, fresh salad and vegetables, The Chef’s cold dishes (which change daily), grilled vegetables and pizza, focaccia and hot appetisers. The dishes are small enough to be kept fresh and well presented, yet there was still plenty of choice.

The menu is full of beautiful pasta and fish dishes. We opted to try a selection. We went for the spaghetti with ‘Panchino tomatoes and basil sauce; the grilled sea bass with bulgur wheat in a citron sauce; the mixed salad of tuna, hard boiled eggs, potatoes and black olives; and the mixed salad of rocket, carrots, zucchini, cucumber, fennel, and radishes.

The dishes were so beautifully fresh, we devoured them in delight. We even opted to try dessert of fresh pineapple, and peach panna cotta; which were equally as delicious.

The only negative about our experience at Trattoria La Vigna, was the weather. Unfortunately it was cloudy during our visit, however, the views were still stunning, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable meal.
