The Grand Hotel Tremezzo in Lake Como, Italy is simply an incredible hotel. The hotel’s impressively grand façade promises great things, and the rest of the hotel does not disappoint.

As soon as we entered the Grand Hotel Tremezzo, our luggage was promptly whisked away from us and taken to our suite. We were then escorted to a magnificent lift that takes you up to reception. The lift is an experience in its own right, being glass fronted you catch glimpses of Lake Como and the hotel’s floating swimming pool as you ascend.

Unfortunately, the receptionist was not overly friendly and our check-in experience was somewhat hindered by that - however we soon forgot about it when we were shown to our rooftop suite…

“…I would go as far as to say that nothing beats sitting in a Jacuzzi admiring the views from the rooftop of this hotel.”

At our suite we were greeted by our private butler who more than made up for the not-so-happy receptionist. She was polite, efficient and extremely helpful.

The suite itself was of a good size and boasted stunning views over Lake Como. Sliding doors lead out to the terrace which features a remote controlled Jacuzzi. The Jacuzzi was a huge selling point for us, and I would go as far as to say that nothing beats sitting in a Jacuzzi admiring the views from the rooftop of this hotel. It is a must book room if you are planning on staying at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo.

The suite itself is modern in design, with the brown marble bathroom being a particularly special feature. Including a large bath and gorgeous walk-in shower, large plasma television and wall-mounted speakers – it really is something special.

The private butler was also a nice addition, being just a phone call away, or sitting ready waiting at a desk outside the suite, should you need anything.

The hotel’s floating pool is certainly something to mention. Attached to the hotel, this large swimming pool floats on the lake, and is surrounded by beanbags for relaxing on. It’s a particularly fun experience when a boat speeds past and you find yourself rocking up and down.

The hotel also offers tennis and has several bars and restaurants, plus another pool and an indoor pool also. Its leisure facilities are a great asset.

The spectacular setting is simply breathtaking, and they have achieved a high level of luxury with their attention to detail and style within the hotel as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
