The Grove offers a luxurious escape in the heart of Hertfordshire. Described as London's country estate, it's easy to see why as you approach up the long sweeping driveway.

It's hard to believe you are only 18 miles from Central London. The scenery is lovely and picturesque, with luscious green landscape for as far as the eye can see, water features and fountains, and the soft sounds of nature.

After a brief check-in we were shown to our suite, we stayed in the Executive Suite in the Mansion. The corridors in the mansion are beautifully designed, with thick dark fabrics lining the walls and antique furnishings carefully placed throughout. The suite itself is gorgeous, and is also home to a beautiful baby grand in the lounge area, along with an espresso machine, large plasma TV, desk, dining table and chairs, and some very comfortable seating.

“The Grove offers a luxurious escape.”

The bedroom was adjoined by large double doors. The bed was very comfortable and gave us a great night's sleep, and one of the best features of the room are the morning views that you can enjoy without even leaving your bed, The bathroom was huge, and included a beautiful roll top bath, which just had to be enjoyed with a large amount of bubble bath. There were also separate his and hers basins, and a walk-in shower.

The Grove also plays host to a number of other facilities. There is an impressive Sequoia Spa which offers everything one could possibly need of a spa, a huge fitness room with all the latest equipment, and a 18 hole golf course. The grounds are large enough to keep you busy on walks, and there are plenty of features and sights to take in.

The swimming pool is fantastic, and there is a juice bar serving up fresh juices to enjoy pool side or while you're in the spa. The main restaurant is Colette's, there are other eateries and afternoon tea isn't to be missed.

If you're planning on stay at The Grove I recommend staying in the Mansion to really capture and experience the best of the grounds. The public areas and corridors are flooded with large, interesting pieces of art. Giving you plenty to explore inside, as well as outside on the grounds.
