The Kempinski le Mirador hotel in Geneva is situated on the hills by Lake Geneva, providing guests with unspoiled views of the lake. Located in Mont Pèlerin among the grape vineyards and shore of the lake, the hotel provides the perfect base for exploring the local area.
While visiting Le Mirador we dined at the impressive Michelin-starred Le Trianon restaurant. Immediately welcomed with impeccable service, we were led to our seats and gazed in awe at the spectacular views across Lake Geneva. The restaurant itself continued the stylish but simplistic design that is seen throughout the hotel, giving guests the opportunity to enjoy the view while they dine.
During our visit to Le Trianon, we chose to have the Menu Terrior with matched wines. This menu began with a delicious warm salad of malt soil and celery puree. A fresh starter, this dish was accompanied by a glass of Terra Remota from Spain.
“Our meal at Le Trianon was delicious and complemented by the friendly and attentive staff.”
Our second dish was Arctic char with Cevennes onions, salsify and watercress coulis. Another light dish, the char was cooked perfectly and complemented by the salsify and watercress. This dish was served with a glass of 2009 Sauvignon Gris, which also complemented the dish beautifully.
Our third dish, served by the wonderful and friendly staff, was Fillet of beef with Pomme soufflé and onions. Slightly heavier than the previous dishes, this was the perfect savoury main course. The beef was delicately cooked and perfectly accompanied by a glass of Humange Rouge from Switzerland.
Finally, we enjoyed chouquettes, a French sweet cream puff, filled with delicate jasmine sorbet and served with a glass of Suisse Chardonne. This was the perfect end to the meal, and lovely reminder of the French influence of the restaurant. Overall, our meal at Le Trianon was delicious and complemented by the friendly and attentive staff.
