The Principe restaurant at Principe Forte de Marmi is the hotel’s more informal dining offering. Open all day, every day, this restaurant provides an excellent option for lunch, or a light supper. Focussing on more traditional Italian cuisine, this restaurant provides a great menu in a wonderful setting.

When we arrived, we were greeted by busy, but efficient staff, who showed us to our table. We made our menu choices before relaxing and taking in the wonderful atmosphere created by the staff and fellow guests.

“The food at Principe was utterly faultless.”

To start, we chose the bavetta with seafood, served in a Forte deo Marmi style. The sommelier recommended a glass of the Chiaranda, 2008, Donnafugata Contessa Entellina Bianco with this dish, which was an excellent accompaniment.

Our second starter came in the form of Tuscan “pacchero” with lobster and green tomatoes. Served with a glass of Costa di Amalfi Furore Marisa Cuomo, 2012, Furore Bianco; this was a seriously tasty dish.

For our main courses, we opted for the beefsteak, Florentine style, served with roasted potatoes, and grilled vegetables. The wine paired with this course was a Torcaluano Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva, 2003, Fattoria Torcaluano Gracciano.

The food at Principe was utterly faultless. The restaurant made the perfect dining spot, and the service was impeccable. We would certainly recommend you check out the restaurant if you happen to be in the area - it's a great find.

We will most certainly be returning, not only to the restaurant (although is is reason enough) but to the resort as a whole. With it being set within its own private grounds, this resort has a very special atmosphere indeed. We were very impressed with our visit; it made for a very enjoyable time, and the restaurant comes highly recommended indeed.
