On a recent trip to Dubrovnik in Croatia, we decided to use the services of Sixt rent a car, who were ideally located at Dubrovnik Airport. Sixt are actually operational in 105 countries worldwide, which makes them a trusted car rental company on a truly global level. Originally founded in 1912, Sixt have a wealth of experience and insight into their customer base, which really helps to give them an edge over their competitors when it comes to customer service.

The fleet of vehicles Sixt offers is vast in range, and includes any type of vehicle one might require, from family estates and 4x4s, luxury cars and convertibles. They even offer minibuses and people carriers for larger groups. Whatever your vehicle preference or group size, we’re certain that Sixt will have a vehicle for you.

On this particular trip, we experienced one of Sixt’s black BMW 1 Series M Sport cars. This car provided us just the right amount of luxury that we were looking for, and boasted both a spotless exterior and interior. We were really impressed with the state in which the vehicle was presented to us, and were really looking forward to driving it to our final destination.

“It’s reassuring to know that they are operational across the world, which means we know we have a trusted go-to car rental company for future trips abroad.”

Our onward journey saw us driving to the beautiful island of Hvar, where we were staying for a few nights at the wonderful Villa Dubrovnik in Vrboska. The journey was around four and a half hours, so we wanted to ensure we chose a vehicle that was comfortable for a fairly long trip, and we were very pleased with our choice. The journey took us through some stunning countryside and towns along the coast of Croatia, which we must say were some of the prettiest we’ve seen. Our trip also meant that we had to take a ferry crossing to the mainland of Hvar, which made for even more stunning sightseeing.

Overall we were highly impressed with the vehicle itself, but also with the service from Sixt. The entire experience was seamless from choosing the car online, to collecting it at the airport, and even returning the car at the other end. It’s always slightly nerve wracking having to navigate the roads of a different country, so to have the experience of actually acquiring the car itself be as straightforward as it was with Sixt, was a real help in reducing stress levels.

We would highly recommend Sixt as a great car hire company and we will certainly be using their services again in the future. It’s reassuring to know that they are operational across the world, which means we know we have a trusted go-to car rental company for future trips abroad.
