As we approached the impressive Rockliffe Hall we were instantly struck by its stunning architecture, and by the warm welcome we received as we made our way inside. The five star hotel is nestled within 375 acres of countryside and, despite a little restoration, fits perfectly within the tranquil landscape.
When we entered the reception area our bags were taken to our room while we checked in, making our entrance quick and hassle-free. It was a perfect start to our stay.
Our suite was situated within the old wing of the hotel, which we considered to be the most impressive part of the charming building. This part of the hotel has many of the authentic and original features in place, which made our stay all the more impressive.
“As an overall experience Rockliffe Hall was a positive one.”
The suite was very spacious and boasted an equally impressive bed. The sofas, in keeping with the theme, were very traditional and beautifully restored. The suite included a very large bathroom that featured a large bath, walk in shower, marble fixtures and Villeroy & Boch fittings. The whole suite was immaculate but sadly our views were limited to the car park from our bay windows.
Rockliffe Hall is a golf and spa hotel and offers a wide range of facilities to guests. The spa includes an impressive 20 metre swimming pool and a hydro pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and ice fountains.
The hotel also offers wonderful and renowned golf facilities, designed by professional golfer and architect Mark Westenborg. The 7,897 yard course, described by many as ‘Ryder Cup worthy’, has everything from lakes to woodland and provides an wonderful opportunity to for golfing guests to enjoy a professional level golf course.
The concierge service was on hand throughout our stay and went to great lengths to ensure we were taken care of. As an overall experience Rockliffe Hall was a positive one.
