The Sail Lofts are a collection of self-catering rental properties with a 5-star rating. The town is in an idyllic location on the north coast of the foot of Cornwall, and has one of the best beaches in the country. The combination of the location and quality of the accommodation made this a stay to remember.

We had the Island apartment, which is a 2 bedroom property very near the sea. Open the French door and you’re literally in front of the beach. There is a car park near the main building and use of a garage should you need it. It's an amazing location, one that almost sells the accommodation on its own.

"Nothing is too much trouble, everyone is helpful, and you feel well looked after"

Fortunately it doesn't have to as the rest of the apartment is excellent. It is spread over two floors in an upside down configuration. That means the bedrooms and bathroom were on the ground floor, and the kitchen and living room were on the first. This was to maximise the benefit of the views.

The white walls, large windows and rich colours all combine to create an inviting, relaxing atmosphere that we felt as soon as we walked in the door. The décor is great, the finishing was of a high quality, and the attention to detail was spot on.

The apartment is open plan and flows nicely. Everything is modern, clean and well-maintained. The vaulted ceiling in the kitchen/diner was a great touch and added a further sense of class to the place. The skylights only added to the effect.

Of course the mini-hamper that greeted us didn’t hurt either! A basket of scones, fresh cream, loaf of bread and fresh local produce was waiting for us in the kitchen, which was a nice touch. That point alone sums up the service at the Sail Lofts.

Nothing is too much trouble, everyone is helpful, and you feel well looked after. Of course you expect to in a 5-star establishment, but it’s done with such ease that it doesn’t feel like service, it feels like friends looking after you.
